What you buy

The “Gift a beehive” experience at Finca Lady Marso consists of following, for one year, a personalised hive with the name the buyer chooses: videos of its progress and of the life of a hive, a welcome box and farm honey when there's a harvest. You do not acquire ownership of the hive or the bees.

What you don't buy

No physical hive or equipment is sold. The hive is and remains the property of Finca Lady Marso and is part of its apiary in Alòs de Balaguer (Spain).

Options and price

Young hive: €95. Adult hive: €145. Both include the same one-year experience; what changes is the starting point (a colony just beginning or a hive already settled).

The honey

Honey is part of the cycle, not its end, and may arrive at different times depending on the blossom, the weather and the apiary's development. Reference amounts: 1 to 3 kg for the young hive and 2 to 4 kg for the adult hive, when there's a harvest. Honey arrives with the season: anything purchased outside spring delivers its first honey the following year.

Origin of the honey

We aim for the honey to be from your hive. If not enough can be extracted from it, it is blended with that of the apiary's hives, of the same area and quality. Only by force majeure (disease, theft, catastrophic year), if there were no farm honey, would honey from other local producers be sent, always clearly identified.

Videos and bee welfare

The experience consists of following, for one year, a personalised hive with a name: a welcome video, videos of its progress and of the apiary, and general videos about the life of a hive. Each new video is notified by email and all remain available on YouTube to watch again. Occasionally there are live streams from the apiary, subject to signal availability. Videos, live streams, harvests and any activity may vary for weather, health, technical or safety reasons. Bee welfare is a priority: a colony is never pushed to reach a honey amount.

Visits

The experience is followed remotely. No guided or paid visits to the apiary are offered. It is possible to arrange honey pickup and to see the farm's surroundings informally.

How the gift works

The gift-giver receives a welcome box with the certificate and a small detail to hand over. The welcome video is delivered via a link included in the box. The recipient provides their address by WhatsApp or email for the honey shipment.

Withdrawal

For distance sales there is a 14-day right of withdrawal under consumer law, with the exceptions applicable to personalised products and to services whose performance has begun with the consumer's consent. [Final wording pending review with a lawyer.]

Personal data and tax

The buyer's and, where applicable, the recipient's data are processed solely to manage the experience, in accordance with the Privacy policy. VAT and the applicable tax regime will be reviewed with an advisor.

If a colony is lost

Hives are living beings and may fall ill, weaken or be lost. If the colony tied to the experience is lost during the year, the experience is not cancelled: the nucleus is replaced when technically possible —the same year if the season allows or, failing that, the following year, since splitting hives or obtaining nuclei is not possible at every time of year— and the follow-up continues with the new colony under the same name.
